Microbiological contamination poses serious operational and integrity threats in water-handling systems, especially in marine and industrial sectors. Assessing biocide efficacy has traditionally relied on slow, often imprecise methods. BactiQuant, an enzyme-targeted fluorescence assay, overcomes these limitations by delivering accurate, real-time measurements of microbial enzymatic activity.
The primary goal was to quantify microbial reduction following treatment with a combined 12% Glutaraldehyde and 3% Quaternary Ammonium biocide. Results from duplicate test sets across five samples demonstrated highly accurate, precise, and reproducible microbial activity trends—validating BactiQuant as a trusted analytical method for real-time biocide performance assessment.
